WHAT IS YOUR DANCING BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE?
I have been dancing since I was 2 years old, competing in regional and national dance competitions since I was 5. I am well-versed in ballet, lyrical, modern, contemporary, jazz, tap and hiphop. I enjoyed competing on my high school dance team, where I served as captain my last two years. Upon entering college, I joined Cal Poly Dance Team which allowed me to dance and cheer at football and basketball games as well as compete. I also am apart of the Cal Poly Dance Minor Program and the Orchesis Dance Company, which allowed me to take classes on a daily basis, learn from guest choreographers, perform in a pre-professional concert each January. I’m blessed to be dancing in my rookie season as a DCC this year.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO AUDITION FOR DCC?
There’s nothing that makes me feel more alive than performing, and DCC is truly the best in the world! The world-class standards and traditions of how the DCC present both themselves and the organization have amazed me ever since I was a little dancer watching the early seasons “Making the Team.” My dad gave me a keepsake when I was very young that said “Believe in yourself,” something I’ve always turned to when in doubt. Dreaming of the chance to one day be one of the 36 women to wear the iconic 15 star uniform, I knew I had to give it my best to try an become one of America’s Sweethearts!
IF YOU CAN SAY ANYTHING TO COWBOYS FANS, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?
Thank you for your incredible loyalty! I’ve never seen fans so genuinely proud of their team, no matter what the score or season record. We wouldn’t be America’s Sweethearts without your overwhelming appreciation and support!
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE WHO DREAMS OF BECOMING A DCC?
Come prepared, believe in yourself, and leave it all out on the floor! No matter what the outcome, the experiences and relationships you gain from the audition make it one of the most rewarding processes. Stay committed to your goals and have faith that it is all part of God’s plan.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT BEING A PART OF DCC?
There is no better joy in life than to share what you love to do with others who love it just as much! The sisterhood my teammates and I share is unlike any other, and I’m blessed to be able to touch the lives of fans around the world with them by my side!
