The Dallas Cowboys Women’s Association, an organization of players, coaches and executive wives and significant others, also works on behalf of the team to make a difference in the North Texas community. Since 2008, the group has raised more than $450,000 for local non-profits, including the SPCA of Texas, Family Gateway, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and more.
In 2012, the group—led by Candice Romo and Kristen Smith Sensabaugh—held a one-day charity yard sale that included gently used personal items donated by players, coaches and front office staff to benefit Nexus Recovery Center. The effort raised $22,000 to assist women and single mothers struggling with addiction.
Additionally, the Women’s Association joins Mrs. Gene Jones and Cowboys players each year in serving an early Thanksgiving Day meal at The Salvation Army, hosting a “Christmas of Giving” for women and children who have escapes domestic violence and visiting with sick children at local area hospitals.
