The Seahawks will begin the 2009 season with a new regime - Jim Mora Jr. will replace 10-year head coach Mike Holmgren - and hopes of recapturing the success that produced a Super Bowl berth in 2006.
Injuries to quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, as well as receivers Nate Burleson and Deon Branch, derailed the offense's continuity. The team won only four games, its lowest total since 1992, and got blown out by the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day at Texas Stadium.
Seattle hopes the free-agent addition of T.J. Houshmandzadeh will add some punch to the offense. Defensively, first-round pick Aaron Curry should bolster a unit led by Lofa Tatupu, Patrick Kerney and Marcus Trufant.

| 2009 Headliners: |
QB Matt Hasselbeck - A back injury limited him to seven games last year. When healthy, he's still an effective player. |
WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh - The unquestioned top receiver in Seattle after sharing the spotlight with Mr. Ochocinco in Cincinnati. |
RB Julius Jones - Ex-Cowboy led the team in rushing (698 yards) while splitting time with Maurice Morris and T.J. Duckett. |
