Cowboys Take Okla. State RB Randle In Fifth Round (151st)
IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys certainly have a theme going in this draft.
If they came to Valley Ranch in the Pre-Draft visits earlier this month, there is a really good chance they will get picked.
The Cowboys selected Joseph Randle in the fifth round (151st overall), making the Oklahoma State running back the fifth of six overall picks to show up at the Cowboys’ headquarters.
Randle, who visited on April 2, ran for 1,417 yards and 14 touchdowns last season. In 2011, he had 1,216 and a whopping 24 touchdowns.
Finding the end zone is obviously an important stat for any running back, especially one for the Cowboys, who have scored 13 rushing touchdowns the last two years, including two from their quarterback.
Randle will likely replace Felix Jones, a free agent who is not signed with a team. DeMarco Murray will remain the feature back but has had injury concerns his first two seasons.
The Cowboys also have Phillip Tanner and Lance Dunbar on the roster at the running back position.
