CowBuzz: DeMarcus Ware’s Career Inspired A New Cowboy’s Football Journey
As one of the team’s newest free agent signings, defensive end Damontre Moore has taken to social media to share his appreciation for his latest opportunity in the NFL. After graduating from Texas A&M and having other stints with four previous NFL teams, the DeSoto, Texas, native now has the chance to play for the team he grew up rooting for.
On the same day that he signed his deal with Dallas, one of Moore’s role models and Cowboys great DeMarcus Ware announced his retirement from the NFL after 12 seasons.
A nine-time Pro Bowler, Ware will head into retirement as the Cowboys’ franchise sack leader and one of the best defenders at the professional level. Many expressed their reactions to his retirement on social media, including the newest Dallas pass rusher, Moore.
Not but an hour after posting the picture of him signing his contract “fulfilling a childhood dream,” Moore shared a side-by-side photo of himself from college and Ware, highlighting the fact that Ware was a “huge inspiration” in his life and a reason he wanted to follow in his steps playing defensive end.
While Moore will not be wearing No. 94 in a Cowboys uniform, striving for Ware’s success is a smart path to follow. Ware’s next stop will undoubtedly be the Pro Football Hall of Fame. For Moore, his work as a Cowboy starts now.
