Practice Update: Tyron & Dez Sit Out; Terrance & Dan Bailey On The Field

FRISCO, Texas – As expected, both Tyron Smith and Dez Bryant were not present when the Cowboys took the field for their first practice of Week 10.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Wednesday morning that neither Pro Bowler would practice at the outset of the week. Smith exited Sunday's win against Kansas City with a groin injury, while Bryant sustained injuries to his ankle and knee.

"We don't anticipate Tyron or Dez practicing today," Garrett said. "We do anticipate Terrance doing something."

Terrance Williams did in fact "do something," as Garrett said. The fifth-year receiver also injured his ankle against the Chiefs, but he participated in pre-practice drills and appeared to be moving around fairly well.

It's doubtful he'll be ready to participate in this game against Atlanta, but it was encouraging to see him suiting up for the first time since the injury.

Another name to watch is Chidobe Awuzie. The rookie defensive back has been participating in practice for the past few weeks since re-injuring his hamstring against Green Bay on Oct. 8. In that time span, though, Awuzie has yet to get involved in the full-team portion of practice.

Garrett said Wednesday that he expects Awuzie to be a part of the larger part of practice on Wednesday, so that's something that will bear monitoring going forward.
