Vote For Cowboys' TD To Win GMC’s Never Say Never Award

Posted Dec 24, 2013

The Cowboys’ last-second touchdown to beat the Redskins saved their season and set up a chance to beat the Eagles to win the NFC East here in Week 17.

The moment was one of three nominees for the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week award, which is given to the best moment or play each week that represents determination and perseverance.

Fans may vote for one of these three moments on http://on.nfl.com/JZwars through Friday at 2 p.m. CST to determine the winner, which will be announced Friday during NFL Network’s “Around the League” show and then posted on NFL.com.

The Cowboys were down 23-14 with just over eight minutes to play when Tony Romo, bad back and all, rallied his team to a field goal to pull with six. On that drive, the Cowboys converted two third downs and a fourth-down play to get points and make it a one-possession game.

The defense finally made a big stop to get off the field and get the ball back and that’s where Romo and the offense went back to work. A 51-yard bomb to rookie Terrance Williams put the Cowboys in position but they still needed a fourth-and-goal from the 10 to win the game. Romo found DeMarco Murray in the right flat for the game-tying score. Dan Bailey gave the Cowboys the lead with an extra point and then the defense made a four-and-out stop to seal the win.

The other nominees this week include Carolina’s 65-yard touchdown drive in which Cam Newton threw a game-winner to beat the Saints, along with Arizona’s late touchdown drive led by Carson Palmer to beat the Seahawks on the road.
