5th Round Pick Becomes 2nd Rookie To Sign Contract

IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys signed the second member of their 2013 draft class on Monday when they inked running back Joseph Randle to a four-year deal.

Randle was taken in the fifth round of the draft as the 151st overall pick after earning two first-team All-Big XII selections at Oklahoma State.

The Cowboys did not announce the details of the running back’s contract. However, it will probably be similar to the deal given to wide receiver Danny Coale in 2012. Coale was the No. 152 pick in last year’s draft, and his four-year contract came in at about $2.9 million.

Randle participated in the Cowboys’ rookie minicamp this past weekend, but he was limited by a thumb injury. Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said it was unclear if Randle would be healthy in time for offseason OTA's, though he will be ready for training camp.

Randle is the second Cowboys draftee to agree to a contract after sixth-round pick DeVonte Holloman signed on Friday.
