Cowboys To Take Phone Calls For Tornado Relief

Posted May 22, 2013

IRVING, Texas – The Dallas Cowboys will be on hand with The Salvation Army to help aid tornado relief efforts on Wednesday night.

Several Cowboys players and alumni with ties to Oklahoma will join together to work The Salvation Army’s relief fund drive Wednesday evening at CBS 11 Studios in Fort Worth. Funds raised during the drive will go to benefit The Salvation Army’s Disaster Relief efforts in Moore, Okla., and its surrounding areas, which were hit by a devastating tornado Monday afternoon.

Current Cowboys DeMarco Murray and Dan Bailey will join team alums Tony Casillas, Charles Haley and Darren Woodson in taking phone calls for relief funds from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Members of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders and other volunteers will also be on hand to take phone calls and pledges of support.

Murray, Bailey and Casillas are just a few members of the Cowboys community with strong ties to Oklahoma. Bailey is a native of Mustang, Okla., while Murray and Casillas are University of Oklahoma alums.

Fans can make a donation to The Salvation Army’s Disaster Relief by calling 877-TEXAS-11 between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to make a credit card payment.

Donations will help The Salvation Army provide meals, hydration, spiritual and emotional care and more for both survivors and first responders in Oklahoma.
