Which young tight end,
Bryan: I really have liked what I have seen with James Hanna but I believed that Hanna was going to have a breakout season even before they drafted Escobar. They both can get up the field and their hands will allow them to make plays. Where Escobar might have an advantage is in the red zone because of his height but he is going to have to learn how to work himself open which Hanna has a good idea how to do.
Rowan: I’ll hesitantly say Escobar, just because of his size and the investment. The Cowboys have to prove that their recent trend of drafting second-round tight ends can actually work out to the fullest extent this time. They didn’t take him at that spot to sit on the sideline. He’ll get his opportunities, and his greatest asset is his ability to catch the ball. He’ll get some looks as the Cowboys close in on the dreaded red zone.
I saw where
Bryan: If he makes the practice squad, that would be a great accomplishment. There are other young receivers that have shown up better than him right now, so we will see how it plays out.
Rowan:You’re right in that receiver is one of those spots where the Cowboys might have to let go of someone they like and hope that player can come back to the practice squad. There doesn’t seem to be a ton of room for extra receivers. A surprise receiving threat tends to stand out at training camp, and that could be Amos this year. But it won’t be an easy task for him to earn a spot on the final 53-man roster.
