IRVING, Texas –
The specific amount of anger management sessions Bryant must complete has not yet been determined. According to a team source, if Bryant doesn’t complete his counseling sessions or has another incident within a certain period of time, which could be as long as a year or more, he could face the family assault charge.
Bryant was arrested on July 16, two days after an altercation with his mother, Angela Bryant, who called police. The incident was his first arrest.
The charges have hovered over Bryant all year. He hasn’t been suspended by the NFL, though he could still face discipline from Commissioner Roger Goodell.
Bryant’s stayed out of trouble since the summer incident. He agreed early in the season to a list of rules set by the Cowboys organization, including a curfew and a security team accompanying him at night.
Royce West, Bryant’s attorney, confirmed to reporters that the charges would be dismissed in a year if the conditions are met.
