IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys added four free agents to their reserve/futures list.
Linebacker Jabara Williams, guard Chris DeGeare, linebacker Quinton Spears and defensive end Tristan Okpalaugo have all signed with the team.
Williams and DeGeare are both former draft picks. Spears was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2011 by the Dolphins and spent time with the Browns and Colts since. Okpalaugo went undrafted out of Fresno State last year and signed with the Dolphins before going to the Vikings’ practice squad.
DeGeare, a fifth-round pick of the Vikings in 2010, appeared in eight games with the Vikings in 2010 and spent the next year on Minnesota’s practice squad. He spent time with Tennessee a year later and then signed with the Giants last season before getting released on final cuts.
Williams was a seventh-round pick of the Rams out of Stephen F. Austin in 2011 who played in seven games that season between the Rams and the Bears. He was released by Chicago in August 2012 and went back to the Rams, where he spent time on the practice squad before getting released in August 2013.
Barring any future roster moves, these players will go through the offseason program with the team and provide depth. They’ll be among the 90 Cowboys players going through camp, joining the rest of the team and any other incoming free agents and draft picks.
Unlike most of the reserve/future players currently on the team, none of the four new additions spent time with the Cowboys during the 2013 season.
