IRVING, Texas – Running back
Dunbar wore a walking boot after getting hurt in the third preseason game, but he got out of the boot last week and began running and now feels ready to get back on the field in time for the Chiefs game this week.
“It feels a lot better,” Dunbar said. “It’s not stopped me from running. I’m going to feel it because I sprained my foot, so it’s not going to be 100 percent, but I’m going to go out and play.”
Dunbar said it was tough to watch on the sidelines Sunday night as his team started the regular season, but it was nice to see them succeed. He said he can’t wait to get to be a part of that.
“That’s what I’ve been waiting for, to get this thing back well enough so I can get back out there and help my team,” he said. “I wanted to be out there and be part of that. It was hard, but I’m glad we did it. I’ll get back this week and get ready to contribute.”
The backup running back was the No. 2 behind
“He’s had a good couple days,” said head coach Jason Garrett. “We’ll see how he does tomorrow and hopefully we’ll get him back out there on Wednesday.”
