Murray said he was held out for precautionary reasons and could have practiced if he needed to. He said on the radio earlier this week that he felt like he’d been in a car crash after Sunday’s game.
Murray’s sprained foot held him out of six games, so the extra rest couldn’t hurt.
“It’s my first game back, so they just wanted to be a little cautious about it,” Murray said. “I got some conditioning in today, which was good.”
The running back’s load wasn’t light in his first game back. He rushed 23 times for 83 yards against the Eagles.
“Coming in, I didn’t think I would get that much work, first game back, not playing for six weeks,” Murray said. “But the adrenaline got going and I felt good and I was doing well so I wanted to stay out there.”
The rest of the Cowboys out on the practice field seemed about as healthy as they’d been in a while. Nose tackle
