(Editor's Note: Each day we will take the 2 best questions for our staff writers to answer from the Mailbag. "Click here" to email questions now.)

DANA NIELSEN - EAST FALMOUTH, MA: So after looking at the Green Bay game again, I think it was a blip on the radar. Green Bay needed to save their season a lot more than the Cowboys needed a win. Am I wrong about this, or do you think the team is about to trend downward?

Nick: I hate to be vague but I think the term "we'll see" applies here. You'd like to think it was just a bump in the road, but only time will tell. Maybe Green Bay is actually better than people think. But the Cowboys can certainly right the ship here in the next two weeks with a favorable home schedule against two below-average teams.

Josh: I think whenever your offense looks as poorly as the Cowboys' did in Green Bay, you have to have some worry they've been exposed a little bit. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean they'll be bad from here on out, but there are obviously some things they need to work on. They just stand out more prominently in losses than in wins.

DAVID CHATZKY - MELBOURNE, FL: Is it me, or is Jason Witten looking like he is slowing down? This year we have not seen him make many moves or break many tackles, and he never runs the seam route much either. Has he lost a step or two?

Nick: Maybe you're right about that. I'd hate to think a 27-year-old tight end is slowing down. But you can probably make the case this is the worst group of receivers he's ever played with. Or, defenses aren't as scared about this group. So naturally he's getting more attention. Maybe it's a combination of a lot of things.

Josh: Well, he's averaging over five catches a game, so you know he can still get open. I will say he doesn't appear to be as athletic as he has been because he's not getting many yards after the catch, but I'm not much of an expert. He's in as good a shape as ever. Maybe teams are just taking away those downfield routes and forcing him to work underneath.
