RODNEY CAISON HEREFORD, TX: Let's face it, the special teams coverage and return units have really not been up to par for a few seasons. All the Cowboys have done is replace the coach of those units, and this will supposedly cure all ills. I am a bit skeptical because the same core of players who underachieved the last few years are still here. Should we really expect much different simply because of a coaching change?

Josh: Don't sell the difference between Joe DeCamillis and Bruce Read short. Their styles are completely different, and considering how much special teams is about want-to, I've got to believe this year's unit will be a lot better. I think Joe De will be better able to instill some want-to on the unit. Throw in a healthy Felix Jones, a healthy Mat McBriar, a kickoff specialist in David Buehler plus the addition of some rookies who are going to have to show they're aces on special teams just to make the roster, and it's hard to imagine things won't get better.

Rob: Don't forget the Cowboys drafted several players who should contribute on special teams even if they're not projected as offensive or defensive starters yet. Getting Felix Jones back on returns and Mat McBriar on punts should help, too. And yes, he's only a coach, but Joe DeCamillis has been successful everywhere he's been. We'll see, but they've certainly taken steps to improve there.

Mickey: Absolutely. You can see already these guys are buying into what Joe DeCamillis is selling, and if they don't, guarantee you life will be miserable for them. They will want to please him. Plus, I feel the young players added through the draft will make a difference first on special teams. They are athletic and highly competitive, which is needed on special teams. Look for significant improvement I would say.

JERRY PITKIN VENTURA, CA: This offseason seems to have Cowboys fans, including myself, urging Jason Garrett to run the ball more often. However, it is my recollection that they did not open holes frequently enough nor did they keep the opponent out of our backfield consistently; leaving Garrett no other viable option but to pass. Is this offensive line capable?

Josh: How about this stat: When Kyle Kosier or Montrae Holland started the game at left guard, the Cowboys averaged 123.8 yards rushing. And of those five games, Felix Jones only played in one. If you can promise me a healthy Felix and some offensive line continuity, I feel pretty good about promising you a decent running game. I do think the Cowboys need to establish a deep threat in the passing game to keep the safeties back, though.

Rob: We'll find out. The talent is certainly there, but you're right, they need more consistency there. Maybe a second season under Hudson Houck will help, and I think most people noticed there was more continuity and production from the line when Kyle Kosier was healthy. Getting him back could solidify things.

Mickey: As they would say these days, true that. You are exactly correct in your assessment about a potential reluctance to rely more heavily on the running game. While the Cowboys seem to have a bevy of talented running backs, they had far too many carries last year for one yard or less - nearly 30 percent as I figured a while back. So just assuming they can just run over everyone is rather presumptive to me. In fact, the Cowboys it seemed had to use the passing game to open up the running game. As for your question, I think offensive line is capable, but will need the crafty Kyle Kosier out there or Montrae Holland to improve over last year. And the return of Felix Jones certainly will help the offensive line's production because of his unique ability to make at least one guy miss. Marion Barber has to run people over.
