MIKE DISISTO - CHESAPEAKE, VA: Have you noticed that Felix Jones doesn't seem to have his "burst" the last few games? Do you think it is injury, confidence, or are defenses keying on him now?
Nick: I think it's the injury and his confidence. He just looks timid for some reason. That's probably natural for a guy who never got hurt in college and now comes to the NFL and can't stay healthy. He's trying to find that balance and it's definitely affecting his play.
Rob: The Eagles keyed on the run, period, not just Jones. He's averaging 4.3 yards per carry (20 for 86 yards) in three games since his injury. That's OK, but it means he hasn't broken any big runs. The Cowboys obviously don't want to overwork him, but as long as the knee feels good, a few more touches could get him into more of a flow.
Josh: He's definitely missing something from the guy we've seen when healthy. He's busted so many big plays in the few carries he's had since last season that you almost expect too much, but I think the knee injury is slowing him down some, both in terms of what he's physically able to do, and maybe his confidence as well. But remember, he did have the long gain on that pass play against Seattle.
VINICIUS SIMOES - KATY, TX: I'm impressed how much Terence Newman has improved from game to game, would you guys agree with me that it's his best season so far. Can he play even better?
Nick: No, I wouldn't say this has been Terence's best season. I think he's played pretty well, but then again, that's what we expect. With a big contract, expectations become even better. Now Newman has been good, but I wouldn't say he's even been the Cowboys' best corner this year. Mike Jenkins has been playing very well so far. But who cares who's playing better? Two good cornerbacks is never a problem.
Rob: Not sure about his best. He's had some real good ones, and 2007 (Pro Bowl year) comes to mind. But he and the entire secondary are covering well and playing very physical. Mike Jenkins' improvement has helped Newman on the other side.
Josh: I saw somewhere on a mid-season review piece, the kind we're releasing on DallasCowboys.com today, that at least one person thinks he's been the defensive MVP so far. Can't say I agree with that, but he's been pretty good. Not the best we've ever seen him play, but still pretty good. Both corners were excellent against Philadelphia.
