IRVING, Texas - Just two weeks after George Strait and Reba McEntire christen the new Cowboys stadium in Arlington, Texas, with a concert on June 6, the Jonas Brothers will kick off their world tour with the second big event on June 20 at the $1.1 billion stadium.

The Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009 will take the band to three continents, including a 44-city North American trek. The brothers, who performed at halftime of the Dallas Cowboys annual Thanksgiving Day game, will also play three European dates, including recently sold-out shows at Paris' Zenith Arena and London's Wembley Arena, plus a just-added date at Madrid's Palacio De Deportes. Additional European shows will be announced soon along with debut tour dates in South America.

"This is a great announcement for the fans of the Jonas Brothers," Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said. "To have them kick off their world tour right here in Arlington, Texas, is something special. I know we will be able to provide them an outstanding venue to put on a show like no other.

"We were fortunate enough to have them perform during our Thanksgiving Day halftime show last year at Texas Stadium, so we have seen first hand the kind of excitement they can bring to a stadium."

This already is the third event scheduled to be held in the $1.1 billion stadium before the Cowboys even play a football game. Along with the George Strait concert, CONCACAF just announced two of the Gold Cup quarterfinal soccer matches will be played at the new stadium on July 19.

But more concerts apparently are on the horizon since U2 has announced an October concert on their upcoming tour to be held in Dallas. Promoters did not designate where the concert will be held, but it appears U2 is primarily playing at large, outdoor stadiums, and the logical choice would be the new Cowboys stadium with a capacity to at least seat between 40,000 to 50,000 for a concert, depending on how much space the stage occupies on the floor and where it's placed.

Also, there is talk of AC/DC booking a concert date at the new stadium.

Ticket sales for the Jones Brothers concert will begin in a limited fashion on Monday, March 16 for Team Jonas fan club members in select cities. A pre-sale for CITI® card holders in select cities will begin on March 18 through CITI's Private Pass® program, and for complete details visit www.citiprivatepass.com. Tickets for the general public in select cities will be available beginning March 20 and can be purchased at www.livenation.com. Check www.jonasbrothers.com for specific cities and times for pre-sales and public on-sales.

Will feature new music taken from the June 15 worldwide release of their upcoming Hollywood Records album. "The Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009," presented by Burger King®, kicks off in Dallas at New Cowboys Stadium on June 20 and will take the band throughout the United States and Canada. In addition to their 44-city North American trek, Jonas Brothers will also play three European dates including recently sold-out shows at Paris' Zenith Arena and London's Wembley Arena plus a just-added date at Madrid's Palacio De Deportes. Additional European shows will be announced soon along with debut tour dates in South America.
