College: One of the more celebrated players to come out of LSU in recent history, Bradie James's collegiate accomplishments spanned the athletic fields and the classroom. James was a two-time All-Southeastern Conference selection on the football field, and a National Scholar Athlete (as selected by the National Football Foundation) and member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll in the classroom. James finished his playing days at LSU as the school's second leading career tackler with 418 - 33 of which were for lost yardage - while also recording 29 quarterback pressures, 14 sacks, eight pass deflections, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and two interceptions. He spent his first three seasons with the Tigers playing weakside linebacker before moving to middle linebacker as a senior and earning All-America honors. James, who possesses a solid work ethic, has a good burst and the speed to make plays from sideline-to-sideline. He will return to the weakside with Dallas, battling for a reserve spot behind two-time Pro Bowler Dexter Coakley.

2002: As a senior team captain, James moved from the weakside to the middle and garnered All-America honors from The Sporting News and the American Football Coaches Association. He was also a semifinalist for the Butkus Award - given annually to the nation's top linebacker - and the Lombardi Award - given annually to the nation's top lineman. An All-SEC pick, James set the LSU single-season tackle record with 154 while adding three sacks, 10 stops for losses of 32 yards, 18 quarterback pressures, three passes defensed and an interception. He opened the season in impressive fashion by registering 19 tackles at Virginia Tech and 18 tackles the following week against The Citadel. He picked up his only interception of the year against Miami of Ohio, while deflecting another pass and totaling seven tackles. In LSU's victory over No. 16 ranked Florida, James led the way defensively with 11 tackles. He again posted 11 stops and a tackle for a loss against South Carolina before closing the season with a flurry. At Auburn, he totaled 14 tackles and a tackle for a loss, then registered 15 stops with a tackle behind the line of scrimmage against Alabama. In the season finale at Arkansas, James recorded a season-high 18 tackles and a sack. James closed his collegiate career in the SBC Cotton Bowl against Texas by tallying seven tackles, a tackle for a loss and a pass deflection while carrying the ball once for two yards on the offensive side of the ball.

2001: James earned All-SEC honors at outside linebacker as a junior after finishing second on the team with 113 tackles while adding nine quarterback pressures, eight tackles behind the line of scrimmage, three sacks, three passes deflections and a forced and recovered fumble. LSU posted a 10-3 record, captured the SEC title and a Sugar Bowl win along the way. Against Utah State he recorded 12 tackles and a pair of pressures. The following week at Tennessee, he tallied a season-high 16 tackles while assisting on a sack of quarterback Casey Clausen. James recorded 10 stops and a sack against Florida before totaling eight tackles and forcing a fumble at Mississippi State. He began LSU's late season push with 14 stops and a pass deflection at Alabama, then contributed 11 tackles, three stops behind the line of scrimmage and a sack against Arkansas in a 41-38 win. James registered 10 tackles against the Volunteers as the Tigers knocked off No. 2 Tennessee 30-21 and captured the SEC Championship Game title. Playing in the Nokia Sugar Bowl against Illinois, James posted eight stops, including one for a loss, and a pair of quarterback pressures in LSU's 47-34 win over the No. 7 ranked Illini.

2000: As a sophomore, James started 11-of-12 games - missing a start against Houston when the Tigers opened in a dime package - and earned second-team All-SEC honors after closing the season second on the team (third in the conference) with 110 tackles. He was the team leader with five sacks while adding eight stops for losses and a forced fumble. Despite not starting the game, James contributed 10 tackles and a sack against Houston. He posted 11 tackles, with two behind the line of scrimmage, at Auburn before totaling a season-high 17 stops and two sacks in a 38-31 overtime win over No. 11 Tennessee. He totaled nine stops and a sack at Florida then tied his season-high with 17 tackles, including one for a loss, against Kentucky. He closed out the season with nine stops and a sack against Alabama, nine tackles at Mississippi and nine stops at Arkansas. In LSU's 28-14 Peach Bowl win over Georgia Tech, James recorded six tackles, two fumble recoveries and a sack to earn Outstanding Defensive Player of the Game honors.

1999: As a freshman, James saw action in 10 games as a reserve linebacker and registered 41 tackles, seven tackles for losses, three sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery to earn selection to the SEC All-Freshman Team. He totaled a season-high nine stops, including one behind the line of scrimmage, against Auburn. At Georgia, James contributed six tackles, a sack, a pass defensed and a fumble recovery. He recorded his first career interception at Mississippi State, then contributed a sack at Alabama.

PERSONAL: Bradie Gene James earned Parade All-America, all-state, class 5A defensive MVP and district defensive MVP honors after totaling 136 tackles, 10 tackles for losses, five sacks and three fumble recoveries as a senior at West Monroe, La., High School. His play helped lead West Monroe to a state championship while earning him selection to the Louisiana Football Magazine's All-Louisiana team, the New Orleans Times Picayune's Top 20 blue chip list and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's super southern 100 list. Brady graduated from LSU with a degree in criminology.
