PRO: One day after all NFL teams finalized their 53-man roster, the Dallas Cowboys added Colin Cochart (KO-shart) through waivers from the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 1, 2012. Cochart entered the league in 2011 as an undrafted free agent with Cincinnati where in 10 games with three starts he caught five receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown.

- Played four seasons (2007-10) at South Dakota State and topped a consistently productive career by earning 2010 first-team honors in Missouri Valley Football Conference.
- Had career totals of 82 receptions for 997 yards and 14 touchdowns.
- Led the team in touchdown catches as both a junior and senior.
- Caught 31 passes for 338 yards with four touchdowns as a senior.
- Had 26 receptions for 240 yards with career-best five touchdowns as a junior.
- Helped lead the Jackrabbits to an 8-3 record as a junior, and he scored three touchdowns in a playoff game at Montana.
- As a sophomore, had a career-best 401 yards on 23 catches with four touchdowns while his average of 17.4 yards-per-catch led the team.

- Attended Kewaunee (Wis.) High School where he was a first-team all-state tight end as selected by the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association and The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
- Was also a first-team all-conference selection and was the Packerland Receiver of the Year.
- Team captain and team MVP, he had 44 receptions for 785 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior and was an honor roll student.
- Was an industrial management major at South Dakota State.
- He and his wife Abigail have a daughter, Nora.
