PRO: With injuries and depth concerns at the center position entering the 2012 season, the Dallas Cowboys made a trade with the Miami Dolphins for a veteran with experience at the position in Ryan Cook. During his previous six seasons, Cook has gained position flexibility by playing not only center, but also guard and tackle, for both the Dolphins and Minnesota Vikings who drafted him in the second round (51st overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft. In total, Cook has appeared in 77 games with 40 starts.

  • Started all 16 games.
  • Helped Minnesota establish a team record with 2,634 rushing yards and rank first in the NFL for only the second time in team history.
  • Paved the way for Peterson to rank second in the NFL with 1,341 yards and set a Vikings rookie record.
  • Blocked for Peterson’s 224-yard rushing day at Chicago (10/14) and NFL-record 296 rushing yards against San Diego (11/4).

 

2006 (Minnesota):

  • Played in six games and started the final three games at right tackle as a rookie.
  • Made NFL debut when he rotated at right tackle with Mike Rosenthal against Arizona (11/26).
  • Shared time at right tackle with Rosenthal at Chicago (12/3) and at Detroit (12/10).
  • Started his first career game when he opened at right tackle against the N.Y. Jets (12/17).

  • Played in 49 career games, starting the final 44 of his career, at New Mexico (2002-05).
