I used to get teased for my curls when I was young all the time! I used to straighten my hair so I could be like everyone else. When I realized that my curls were something that made me unique and stand out, I started to wear my hair natural again! It taught me to really embrace what you are given, even if you are different!

WHAT IS YOUR DANCING BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE?
I started dancing when I was 3 years old. I’ve done all types of dance, ranging from ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, Hula and Tahitian. My high school job was dancing for Malu Productions as a Hula and Tahitian dancer at luau events and on a cruise ship. I danced for Dance Junction Hawaii, a studio in Honolulu, where I danced all over the world (including Japan) and continued on to dance at Oregon State University as a dancer on the Cheer and Dance Team. After graduating from college, I moved to Portland, Oregon where I danced in the NBA for the Portland Trailblazers for two seasons.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO AUDITION FOR DCC?
It has been my dream since I was a little girl to become one of America’s Sweethearts. Dancing is my passion and to be able to do what I love on a huge platform is amazing. I also want to be an example for all young girls anywhere to show that if you want something, you can go out and achieve it!

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE WHO DREAMS OF BECOMING A DCC?
Don’t give up on your dream. Work hard, believe in yourself, and surround yourself with a solid support system. Stay focused on your goal and with that, you will be able to do anything!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT BEING A PART OF DCC?
The thought of knowing there is a little girl somewhere wanting to be in my boots someday, and that she looks up to me, makes being a DCC so fulfilling.
