When I was on my high school drill team I was an officer, which is a leadership position. Annually, there is a big ceremony when the officers are announced, and it’s in front of a huge gym filled with friends and family. At this ceremony, the officers receive their batons, and when I was being announced, I accidentally kicked the baton and it went flying in front of the whole gym. I was so embarrassed! It was like a “Bring It On” spirit stick moment!

Putting yourself out there is never easy, but it’s so worth it in the end. Regardless of what happens, it will be an experience of a lifetime.
