FRISCO, Texas -- The Cowboys aren't ready to make a change at the kicker position, but they're willing to weigh their options.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Sunday the team will conduct a kicker workout after the team's afternoon practice.

"We're bringing three different kickers in -- not to say we're making that decision," Garrett said. "We just want to see these guys, just like we would if we were bringing in other players at other positions."

Garrett might not be ready to make a change, but it goes without saying that the Cowboys wouldn't be conducting a workout if there were no problems at the position. Brett Maher struggled mightily in Thursday's game against Buffalo, as he missed a kick from 35 yards at the end of the first half, and then missed again from 47 during the third quarter.

"He'd be the first to tell you that he's got to make some of the shorter intermediate range kicks that he's missed," Garrett said. "So we'll focus on that and try to help him in anyway way that we can."

The three kickers in question are Nick Rose, Austin MacGinnis and Tristan Vizcaino. Rose is easily the most experienced of the trio, as he spent time with both Washington and the Los Angeles Chargers. He's the only one of the three with an NFL kick to his name, as he has connected on 11-of-14 regular season attempts.

MacGinnis and Vizcaino have never appeared in a regular season game, though they have spent time in NFL training camps
