Auditions still are still rolling on Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team as 100 women arrive to AT&T Stadium for semifinals. They are competing for a spot in the final round of the DCC auditions.
During semi-finals, the girls will learn choreography from Judy Trammell and former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Jennifer, Jinelle, Jenna and Robin.
The semi-finalists must learn the choreography and turn it around quickly to perform for the judges. All of the contestants will learn the same choreography to the same song, so if they mess up, it will definitely be noticeable to the judges! They also need to show that they can perform with the DCC style of 'power and punch.'
The process of learning a dance quickly is imperative to the DCC because they learn a new dance most nights of training camp. This will be revealing to the judges if they will be able to handle that fast-paced summer ahead.
Oh, and not to mention the semi-finalists will also have to learn some of the iconic DCC kickline, and perform it after four minutes of non-stop dancing! Talk about pressure on Day Two…
One main thing that the judges will look at during the semi-final round is if these girls will blend in right away with the veterans. Can they keep up? Other things to look for is who really absorbed the choreography and who is entertaining to watch? Good showmanship?
To quote Kelli Finglass, "Great is great. And that's what we're looking for."
After much deliberation with the judges, 59 women were invited to finals, while the rest of the women were sent home with their dream of becoming a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader on hold.
Before the veterans enter the final round of auditions, there is one final team performance. The squad will dance on the red carpet of the 2018 NFL Draft held at AT&T Stadium. This will also be the last performance as a DCC for the women retiring from the team -- a very emotional moment.
