The National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation is on a Mission to Inspire America, by promoting Medal of Honor values of courage and sacrifice, commitment and integrity, citizenship and patriotism. The Foundation will bring the stories of Medal of Honor recipients, who received the medal for acts of valor in combat, to our nation through a Museum located in Arlington, Texas that will tell their stories as a beacon of inspiration for all, a forthcoming monument in Washington, D.C. that marks the significance of their contributions to our nation, and an Institute that will espouse Medal of Honor values through programming disseminated across the country.

ANNUAL SALUTE TO SERVICE AND THE DALLAS COWBOYS

Salute to Service Week is an annual tradition of the Dallas Cowboys, with a variety of military and veteran related community outreach efforts centered in the week leading up to Veterans Day. With focus on the relationship with the National Medal of Honor Museum, the week's events impact several military demographics– veterans, active duty soldiers, military spouses, children and more. The 2023 Salute to Service Week events included the NFL Character Playbook and National Medal of Honor Museum Launch Event, National Medal of Honor Museum Hard Hat Tour with the Offensive Line, NFL USO Salute to Service Madden Championship Tournament, Operation Shower and much more. Salute to Service Week culminated with the Dallas Cowboys nationally televised match-up against the New York Giants on November 12th.

THE DALLAS COWBOYS + THE NATIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR MUSEUM

NFL Character Playbook + National Medal of Honor Museum Launch Event

The Dallas Cowboys partnered with the National Medal of Honor Museum, NFL Foundation, Everfi along with Rams, Seahawks, and Chargers to celebrate the national launch of NMOHM Character Playbook Modules. Students, both in person and virtually, had the unique opportunity to engage live with Dak Prescott, Chris Cassidy, Medal of Honor recipient Florent "Flo" Groberg, and virtually with Cooper Kupp (Rams), Sean Lissemore (Chargers) and Jon Rattigan (Seahawks) with a discussion on Medal of Honor core values and the significance of exemplifying good character in everyday life. The event culminated with a surprise $1 million donation from the NFL Foundation to the National Medal of Honor Museum Character Playbook program.

National Medal of Honor Museum Hard Hat Tour

As an extension of their support last year wearing cleats for the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation through My Cause My Cleats, members of the Dallas Cowboys Offensive Line, Zack Martin, Tyler Biadasz, Terence Steele, Tyler Smith, and Tyron Smith, were given an exclusive behind the scenes look into the history of the Medal of Honor and the progress of the National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington, Texas. Players were joined by Charlotte Jones and Medal of Honor recipient Sal Giunta as they learned the history of the Medal of Honor and explored artifacts in the Museum's Preview Center before heading to construction site to tour the progress of the project.

NFL USO Salute to Service Madden Championship Tournament

The 3rd Annual Salute to Service Showdown, an event created jointly by the USO and the NFL began in September and after an initial qualifier period and playoffs the best eight players advanced the in-person finals at the Dallas Cowboys Salute to Service game. The finalists received a special visit from

Medal of Honor recipient Kyle Carpenter while they competed for the title. The tournament winners were recognized on field pre-game and received two tickets each for the 58th Super Bowl which will take place in Las Vegas in February 2024.

SALUTE TO SERVICE GAME | GIANTS VS. COWBOYS

On November 12th, in recognition of the National Medal of Honor Museum and Salute to Service, the Dallas Cowboys incorporated many special moments throughout pre-game, in-game and halftime.

A special pre-game reception was held for 16 Medal of Honor recipients, Founding Donors and guests at AT&T Stadium. The reception featured remarks from Jerry Jones, Charlotte Jones, Chris Cassidy (National Medal of Honor Museum President and CEO and former Astronaut and Navy Seal) and Ken Griffin (CEO of Citadel and National Medal of Honor donor).

Former President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush took part in the coin toss alongside Tyler Smit (OT), Damone Clark (LB) and Israel Mukuamu (S).

Founding Donors who have contributed to the National Medal of Honor Museum project had the opportunity to join the Cowboys official trumpet player Freddie Jones for the playing of the National Anthem while Medal of Honor Recipients stood shoulder to shoulder with the Cowboys Team. Jr. ROTC was present on field to hold the American flag on field.

The Dallas Cowboys 50/50 Raffle for the Salute to Service game changed beneficiaries for the day to benefit the National Medal of Honor Museum. Raffle staff and volunteers traded in their traditional red uniforms for gold, along with signage and promotional collateral. The biggest raffle jackpot in Cowboys 5050 Raffle history of $140,436 was split 50/50 between one lucky fan and the National Medal of Honor Museum.

During halftime the Dallas Cowboys recognized current members of all branches of the armed services, and 16 Medal of Honor recipients alongside recording artist, Lee Greenwood performing his popular song, "God Bless the U.S.A.".
