When Major Ward Matthews and Captain Michele Matthews, DFW Metroplex Commanders, visited Sprinkles during the promotion, they were chomping at the bit to chomp on a bite of a Dallas Cowboys "Blue Velvet" cupcake.

DALLAS - Sprinkles Cupcakes in Dallas sold 3,626 of the Dallas Cowboys "Blue Velvet" cupcakes from September 11-19. As a result, Sprinkles will donate $12,000 to The Salvation Army.

"We can't think of a better way to celebrate the start of the Dallas Cowboys football season than with this unprecedented donation to the team's favorite charity, The Salvation Army," says Candace Nelson, owner of Sprinkles. "Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who purchased a Blue Velvet cupcake during the fundraiser and made this contribution possible."

The Salvation Army is grateful to Sprinkles and the Dallas Cowboys!
