Cowboys owner Jerry Jones promised trades, and trades he made, Cowboys acquiring just what the doctor ordered, a big, powerful defensive tackle in Quinnen Williams and linebacker Logan Wilson to shore up a run defense in need. The trades are for now and the future,. And a look at the NFC standings and where the Cowboys could fit in.

Almost ignoring the stinging loss to the Cardinals, the guys jumped right into trade talk, what the Cowboys already did and what they should do going forward, all prior to the Quinnen Williams trade going down. Then talk of the Cowboys faulty defense against the Cards, but emphasizing how the offense has been struggling.

So, there is a lot of talk today about if the Cowboys will or should make a trade by Tuesday's deadline and what position would be the priority to address, along with if trading for a rest of the season rental player or a guy to also help down the road. And a wild, wide range of picks and picks to click for Monday night's game against the Cardinals.

Time to move on from Sunday's loss to Denver, reviewing what defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus had to say about the defense, how Brian Schottenheimer has been interacting with the defense, updates on the injuried safeties and Trevon Diggs situation, and then a whole lot on the Arizona Cardinals.

The Cowboys had so many chances to emerge winners in Carolina, but too many miscues and a porous defense against the run sent the Cowboys home with an unexpected loss to the Panthers. The Cowboys go on the road to win their second game of the season in going-away fashion, with much credit to the offensive, injuries causing four backups to start. You'd have never known. Then the Flournoy effect, Javonte Williams continuing to impress and for a change the defense making key plays.

Time to piece together an offensive line that could be without four of their five starters for the Jets game and then putting some second receiver responsibility on Jalen Tolbert with CeeDee Lamb still missing. Importance of the running game and of course Friday's picks and picks to click.

Bill's late arrival reminds of where head coach Brian Schottenheimer learned much of his football, bringing his dad's book "Marty Ball," maybe one of the reasons the Cowboys have put an emphasis on running the football. Also, a comprehensive look on the number of injuries besetting the team and working Blue.
