Cowboys Add 4 Players; 4 Waived, Including Greenberry, Seastrunk

OXNARD, Calif. – The Cowboys made multiple moves on their training camp roster Thursday, signing linebacker Dakorey Johnson and wide receivers Phil Bates and Edmond Gates following a morning workout.

Cornerback Rod Sweeting was also claimed off waivers from the Bills.

To make roster room, the Cowboys waived cornerback Brandon Smith, wide receivers Reggie Dunn and Deontay Greenberry, and running back Lache Seastrunk.

Gates, a 2011 fourth-round pick out of Abilene Christian (Texas), has spent time with the Dolphins, Jets and Titans. Bates, undrafted in 2012, had spent time on the Seahawks' and Browns' practice squads. Johnson, a rookie out of Kansas State, had signed with the Seahawks after a tryout. Sweeting has spent time with the Saints, Dolphins and Bills since going undrafted in 2013.

Seastrunk, who signed with the Cowboys in the spring, had five carries for 16 yards in the preseason opener at San Diego.

Greenberry, signed as a rookie free agent after the draft, and Dunn, who spent last year on the practice squad, did not record any statistics in the game.
