While this 2016 season marks the 42nd year for Dallas Cowboys Star Magazine, it will also mark its last as a print publication.
Following the 2016 season, the official magazine of the Cowboys will be transitioning to a new and improved online experience that will compliment the team's website, DallasCowboys.com.
The very first issue (July 19, 1975) of what originally began as Dallas Cowboys Official Weekly featured legendary head coach Tom Landry with No. 1 draft pick Randy White on the cover. Since then, the magazine has grown to be the largest team publication in the NFL, at its height boasting more than 100,000 subscribers during the hey-day years of the 1990s.
Changing its title to Dallas Cowboys Star Magazine in 2007, the publication evolved from a newspaper format to a glossy edition, and went on to expand its effort by producing double-sized offseason issues, beginning with the popular Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Swimsuit edition in June of 2009. The Draft Guide and Training Camp Preview soon followed. These specialty editions will continue to be published annually and will be available at Shop.DallasCowboys.com and at select bookstores.
Beginning on September 1, Dallas Cowboys Star Magazine will no longer be accepting new subscriptions or mailing renewal forms.
For those with current subscriptions, Dallas Cowboys Star Magazine will continue to produce issues each week through the end of January 2017 (Volume 42, Issue 32), after which subscribers will receive a refund with the prorated amount remaining on their subscription.
For fans who have a subscription that expires during the regular season, those subscriptions will be extended through the remainder of the 2016 season, so that they may still enjoy the final year of Dallas Cowboys Star Magazine in print.
