Brian Price Headed For Knee Surgery As Cowboys Consider Help At DT
FRISCO, Texas – Defensive tackle Brian Price needs knee surgery that will force the Cowboys to look for a replacement in the defensive line rotation.
“Don’t know (who) yet,” head coach Jason Garrett said Monday.
Price, claimed off waivers from the Packers in early September, limped off the field in the second half of the Cowboys’ 28-17 win over the Chiefs. He said afterward he believed he suffered a dislocation of his left kneecap.
Garrett said he expects Price to have surgery on Tuesday and eventually be placed on injured reserve.
His injury is another blow to the team’s defensive tackle depth. Starter Stephea Paea chose to retire in October, citing a chronic knee condition, and the Cowboys signed 320-pounder Richard Ash off the practice squad to replace him.
