Sean Lee On Track To Return To Action In Week 14 Against The Giants
FRISCO, Texas – After a four-week wait, it sounds like the Cowboys plan on welcoming Sean Lee back to the lineup in Week 14.
The All-Pro linebacker has been missing since the first half of the Nov. 12 loss to Atlanta, when he suffered his second hamstring injury. But after a diligent rehab process, the plan is for Lee to practice this week heading into Sunday’s game against the Giants.
“Yeah, we anticipate him to be able to go through everything tomorrow and then practice on Wednesday,” said Cowboys coach Jason Garrett. “We’ll take his situation one day at a time this week.”
Lee was a bit more direct on Monday morning, as he said he’s “good to go” to practice and play this week when the Cowboys travel to play their divisional rivals.
It’s undoubtedly been a frustrating season for Lee. He has played to his usual all-star standard when he has been on the field, tallying 62 tackles and seven tackles for loss in just seven games.
The problem is that this is his second hamstring injury of the season, meaning he’s missed five of the Cowboys’ 12 games to this point. They handily defeated Washington without him last Thursday, but they are 1-4 during his absences on the year.
“You never want to miss time, but it becomes worse when we have some tough losses and you’re not out there for your teammates and you’re letting them down,” Lee said Monday. “That’s what I think the hardest part of dealing with the injuries have been, feeling like you’re letting your teammates down in situations where you can help.
Getting their best defender back would be a boost for the Cowboys in any week, but it should carry even more weight going into this game. The Giants presently rank 29th in the NFL in total offense and 31st in scoring offense, as they haven’t scored more than 24 points in any game this season. Read
