The Dallas Cowboys bolstered the interior of their defensive line with the selection of Mazi Smith in the first round (26th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. Smith fits the build as a quality space eater, coming in at 6'3", 325 pounds and continually displayed his strength as a run stuffer through his final two seasons at Michigan where he started all 28 games and posted 85 tackles. Smith will be counted upon to add to an improving defensive tackle spot and will fight for a starting role in his rookie season.
