FRISCO, Texas – The Cowboys will play their final game of the 2025 season on Sunday, January 4 against the New York Giants with kickoff set for 12:00 p.m.
In each of the last four seasons since the NFL added a Week 18 game in 2021, the Cowboys have played three times on Sunday and just once on Saturday. Now, it'll be four straight seasons where the Cowboys play on Sunday in Week 18.
Dallas will look to continue their winning streak over the Giants this coming week, as they've won the previous nine games against New York. The Cowboys lead the all-time series against the Giants 78-47-2.
Should Cowboys QB Dak Prescott play in Dallas' final game of the 2025 season, he'll have a chance to expand his NFL-best streak of consecutive wins over a single opponent since 1980. Prescott currently holds 14 straight wins over the Giants, with his last loss to New York coming back in his rookie season in 2016. In Week 2, Prescott threw for 361 yards, two touchdowns and an interception against the Giants.
With one game remaining, the Cowboys have amassed a 4-1 record against the NFC East. With a win, the Cowboys will have had a 5-1 division record twice in the last three seasons.
The Cowboys have not had a losing record against division opponents in a season since 2020.
Back in Week 2, the Cowboys won a 40-37 overtime thriller over the Giants to give Brian Schottenheimer his first win as the Cowboys' head coach. It was an emotional victory for Schottenheimer, who was proud of his team's fight.
"I was really good coming off the field. And then when Dak presented me, he and Jerry presented me with the game ball, that was pretty special for me," Schottenheimer said after the game.
"Cool way to win your first game. You know, you'll remember it forever, but the words that Dak and the players said to me after the game is why it's so special. It's, I expect the first of many, but I'll remember this one forever because of the fight in these guys."
This time around, the Cowboys will certainly hope for less of a rollercoaster as they look to finish the year with a victory to improve to 8-8-1.
