DCRB Dancer - Kaitlin  | 2020

Hey Cowboys Nation,

I am beyond excited and proud to be a Dancer on the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm & Blue. This is my second year on the team, and I am blessed to have made it directly after graduating high school. I am honored to be a part of the legacy of the first co-ed hip-hop team in the NFL.

I was born in the city of Austin, but I currently reside in Denton, Texas. I am now a sophomore at the University of North Texas majoring in Criminal Justice. I have been a competitive dancer for the past 14 years and was a captain of my hip-hop crew and drill team.

I would not be anywhere near where I am today if it weren't for my family's support and faith in me. They have given me the strength to keep going during hard times and push myself toward all of my goals in life. They have given me the world and I am more than happy to return the favor. I am blessed to have had such amazing friends in my life that have uplifted me and given me the courage to take chances. I would not be dancing for the first co-ed hip-hop team in the NFL if it weren't for the drive my dance teachers had for my success. Their passion poured into my training means the world to me and I am so thankful for every minute of every class.

It is such an honor and a privilege to be a part of the Dallas Cowboys organization, and I cannot wait for all of the life-changing memories that I will make this year.

Go Cowboys!

Kaitlin

Number of years on the team: It is my second year on the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm & Blue and I look forward to making many new memories!

Prior Dance/Entertainment Industry Experience: I have been dancing since I was 4 years old and have danced competitively since the age of 6. I have been in two music videos with various up and coming artists and have worked with many choreographers currently in the industry.

Nicknames: My friends and family call me Kat because I love cats too much and it is easier to spell correctly.

Hometown: I am from the Keller/Fort Worth area.

I dance because: I dance because it is my absolute passion in life. I can't imagine myself doing anything but dancing. It is the one thing that always brings me joy and lifts me up when I'm feeling low. I also do it for the audience. I take pleasure in spreading joy to peoples' lives and I can't think of a better way to do that than through dance.

What I like to do most besides dance is: What I like to do most besides dance is sing. I am not the best at singing, but it releases a lot of stress. When I get into it, it makes for a good time.

I've always wanted to: I've always wanted to go skydiving. I have done "I Fly" which is the indoor skydiving arena, but I would love to someday do it for real.

Advice to Youngsters: My best advice to the young aspiring dancers out there is to just be yourself and have confidence in that you are YOU. Know who you are and show it off but stay humble within because if you get cocky it goes downhill. Know that you are unique, and you are enough!

My biggest role model is: My biggest role model is my studio dance teacher. She has done so much with her life and is spreading that knowledge to more and more people each and every day. She always has something nice to say with a smile on her face and she has the abilities like no other. I am so grateful to have been mentored by her.

What I enjoy most about being a DCRB Dancer is: What I enjoy most about being a DCRB Dancer is the opportunity to perform on such a high level. Being on an NFL dance team is an amazing accomplishment, and I am grateful to represent the Cowboys in such a glamorous uniform.

Favorite Cowboys player past or present: My favorite Cowboys player is Jason Witten. With his many accomplishments, from running through the game with no helmet to coming back from retirement, he is a very impressive player.

Favorite Performer: My favorite performer is Justin Timberlake. He is so inspiring with his music and he is a smooth dancer. Also, he has such a kind heart and a passion for people.

Favorite Music: My favorite music is alternative; bands like Twenty-One Pilots, Fall Out Boy, and Panic at the Disco are in my playlists.

Favorite Quotes: One of my favorite quotes is "Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, then it's not the end." – John Lennon. This keeps me going and truly lifts me up when I'm having a bad day.

The three guests I would invite to my fantasy dinner party are: Three guests that I would invite to my fantasy dinner are Michael Jackson, Ed Sheeran, and Elvis Presley. I chose singer/song writers because music is the beat of my life and I would love to tap more into their histories and lives. I see all three of them as making music history and really changing the game of music; how it's played, the style, and dancing.
