The combined records for the Cowboys and Jets are 1-6-1 - but there is no shortage of talent on both sides of the ball.
Dallas might have a ton of injuries to deal with it, but there are still plenty of playmakers and the Jets can match that, especially with a pair of defensive stars.
Here are the players we'll be watching come Sunday:
Sauce Gardner: There can be no debate for me that the biggest matchup of the day will be Gardner against not just George Pickens, but also Dak Prescott. The latter is on a tear to begin the 2025 season, and Pickens proved just last week he can be a gamebreaker. Gardner is one of the best cornerbacks in the entire NFL and will try to make an example out of the Cowboys, with the added chip on his shoulder of not having a single interception through his first four outings. - Patrik Walker
George Pickens: Will Gardner travel against Pickens? That would make for some absolute cinema at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, if he does. Pickens is coming off of the second-best outing of his NFL career in racking up more than 130 receiving yards and two touchdowns versus one of the best defenses in the league, and he wants nothing less than an encore performance to also rinse the bad taste of Chicago from his mouth. - Patrik Walker
Jaydon Blue: The time that so many Cowboys fans have been waiting for appears to be upon us. With both Miles Sanders and KaVontae Turpin missing two straight days of practice, Sunday will likely mark the NFL debut for rookie running back Jaydon Blue. Blue's an exciting addition to Dallas' backfield and their special teams unit, should he be leaned on as a returner, but keep in mind it's also his first regular season NFL action. As is the case with any rookie, there may be some growing pains early. But if Brian Schottenheimer and company can get Blue into some open field with the ball in his hands, it can change the game. - Tommy Yarrish
Quinnen Williams: There aren't many, if any, defensive tackles playing better in the NFL than Quinnen Williams. He's big, athletic, and takes up a ton of space in the middle. That's a big reason why he leads the league right now in run stuffs with nine. If the Cowboys are going to be down more of their starters on the offensive line this week, there could be some trouble getting the run game established if Williams is having a big day. - Tommy Yarrish
Jadaveon Clowney: We saw glimpses of what he could provide last week against the Packers in limited action. But with a full two weeks of practice now and some game time under his belt, Clowney could be ready for a much bigger role. It's his kind of experience, tenacity and talent off the edge that should help this defense in a major way. And now that we see Marshawn Kneeland on the injury report, there could be even more opportunities for these pass-rushers to play a lot. With Justin Fields' ability to take off from the pocket, keeping containment is vital and Clowney has already shown the ability to do that. If he can take his game up another level and get to the quarterback this week, that would be an added bonus. - Nick Eatman
Will McDonald: The Jets' pass rusher leads the team with two sacks, both occurring against Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers back in Week 1. But McDonald is coming off a 10.5 sack season in 2024 and seems to be the Jets' best pass rusher. With the Cowboys suffering plenty of injury issues on the O-line, including Tyler Guyton still dealing with the concussion issues, McDonald could be facing Nate Thomas in his first pro start. McDonald was a player the Cowboys were high on coming out of Iowa State in 2023. He went 15th overall to the Jets and has been a consistent edge rusher and he'll be a key component in Sunday's game. - Nick Eatman
