CeeDee all smiles after bounceback game for Cowboys

FRISCO, Texas — Don't call it a comeback, he's been here for years. CeeDee Lamb didn’t duck any smoke that wafted his way following his four-drop outing in the narrow loss by the Dallas Cowboys to the Philadelphia Eagles, and he dished out plenty of his own against the New York Giants the following week.

A slow start for Lamb in Week 2 eventually morphed into a fast finish in the fourth quarter and overtime as he helped All-Pro quarterback Dak Prescott, in conjunction with George Pickens, Jake Ferguson and running back Javonte Williams lift the Cowboys to an adrenaline-infused 40-37 victory in their home opener.

The All-Pro and record-setting receiver finished with 112 yards on nine catches, this time reeling in every critical throw in his direction when Dallas needed it most.

He then touched on several topics heading into the Week 3 bout against the Chicago Bears, feeling very much in his groove again.

On his own performance vs. the Giants:

Last week, the situation fell through my hands. This week, we stepped up. It's all about being resilient. Diversity is gonna hit. It's all about your response. … I felt like I was myself again. Once we hit the fourth quarter, I knew it was my time to turn up."

On Dak Prescott's never-say-die leadership:

"His resilience, the aura, it reeks in the huddle. We understand that we know we got [No. 4], as far as willing to step up in these situations. Who else is willing to step with him? And for us as a team — the unit — we came together and we ended this game."

On Brian Schottenheimer's first win:

"First win for us as a team, and I'm happy for him as a head coach. Obviously, leading us and leading his troops, continuing to instill resiliency. Every game ain't gonna be the best, and as long as we can come out with a victory, I feel like that's gonna be the most important thing out of everything. We're gonna go back, learn about it, learn everything that we made a mistake on, and it'll be better next week."

On the impact of George Pickens throughout the game:

"You started to understand how much of a demon he really is. He could take over the game and he's ecstatic, man. He's electric. Just give him opportunities. I mean, he drew like five [defensive pass interference calls]. Do what you want with that information."

*On Javonte Williams and the highly-productive rushing attack:

*"It's amazing. They're going to have to stack the box [against us]. And once there's only one safety up there, it's game on."
