FRISCO, Texas – The day after being waived by the Cowboys, former Pro Bowl CB Trevon Diggs was claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers.
Diggs, 27, now joins Green Bay a week before the playoffs, where the Packers have clinched the NFC's number seven seed. He'll be eligible to play immediately for Green Bay, who will also claim the remainder of his 2025 contract.
He'll also reunite with former Cowboys teammate Micah Parsons, who was traded from Dallas to Green Bay before the 2025 season started in exchange for DT Kenny Clark and two future first-round draft picks.
Diggs and Parsons were, and still are, very close friends during their time together in Dallas. At the beginning of training camp when Parsons was going through his contract situation with the Cowboys, the pair held a joint press conference, and Diggs showed his support for Parsons and complimented his attendance in Oxnard.
"It means a lot, it shows leadership, it shows he wants to be here," Diggs said of Parsons traveling to training camp with the team over the summer. "He really wants to be here, I've been with him ever since he came in, he's worked hard, he's earned everything, he's earned every dollar, he's performed on the field. So, you know, I think it's time to get him done, make sure we can keep this thing together."
Conversely, Parsons voiced his support for Diggs, who had $500,000 docked off his annual salary for choosing to rehab out of the Cowboys' facility, which was a de-escalator in his contract.
"At the end of the day, this is his business, his body, it's his body equity," Parsons said. "He's gotta feel like he got to do what's best for his body. Like always, at the end of the day, if he's not available, what are they going to do? Get rid of him. So he's got to keep his body up to par."
Now the two team up once again up north. Since the Packers are locked into the second seed in the NFC North, the Cowboys will play them in 2026 on the road at Lambeau Field.
