Jerry Jones Congratulates Jimmy Johnson On HOF

FRISCO, Texas –As college roommates and teammates back in 1964, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and former head coach Jimmy Johnson won a national championship together at Arkansas. They won two Super Bowls together with the Cowboys in 1992 and 1993.

And now, Johnson will join Jones in Canton, Ohio as a Pro Football Hall of Famer.

Jones, inducted in 2017, sent out a statement Sunday congratulating Johnson on his selection to the 2020 Centennial Hall of Fame Class.

"We're so happy that the Hall of Fame has recognized Jimmy Johnson for what he is. A great coach," said Jones, who hired Johnson as Cowboys head coach after buying the team in 1989.

"To Jimmy I say, 'The stars were aligned and our dreams came true when we joined the Dallas Cowboys.'

"And on behalf of the Cowboys, and our fans all over the world, I say congratulations Jimmy. We're proud of you."

Johnson coached the Cowboys from 1989-93 and the Miami Dolphins from 1996-99. He has been a Fox NFL analyst since 2002. In an emotional moment at halftime of Packers-Seahawks on 

Sunday, Pro Football Hall of Fame president and CEO David Baker informed Johnson in studio that he has been selected to the 2020 Class.
