Mailbag: A Surprise Veteran Cut?

Mailbag-A-Surprise-Veteran-Cut-hero

Given the nature of Randall Cobb's contract and the potential of some of these younger guys, could Cobb be a surprise trade or cut candidate? I know it's still early, but I personally see the possibility of a couple of the young guys playing their way onto this roster (and one of them would be Noah Brown).- FABIO MORO / HOUSTON, TX

Bryan:Cobb is going to be one of the best players you have on the offense. I understand that you think a young player or two is going to play their way on the roster but let's tap the brakes about moving on from him.

David:I get where your head is at, and it's true that there are surprise cuts every year. But I'd be willing to bet a large sum of money that it won't be Randall Cobb. To say he looked impressive during OTA's is a massive understatement, and I think he's primed for a huge year. One of these young receivers might steal a roster spot, but it's not going to be Cobb's.

Dez Bryant might not be a Hall of Famer, but do you think he had a good enough career with the Cowboys to at least be considered for the Ring of Honor? - CHANCE ALEXANDER

Bryan:I have always been a big fan of Dez Bryant, maybe too much of a fan. Guy had a heck of a career and by all means one day deserves to be in the Ring of Honor. It's a very select group, so it might take some time but his contributions to this organization sure merit that.

David:At the end of the day, the Jones Family are the ones that make the decisions about the Ring of Honor. But Dez is a no-brainer in my humble opinion. He was one of the faces of this franchise for a decade, and he's ranked first in career touchdowns, third in career catches and fifth in career yards. It might not happen for a little while, but I firmly believe he'll be part of the Ring of Honor.
