The 5th Annual Alex Puente Charity Golf Tournament

Mateya Jackson

It was a beautiful day for golf as the 5th Annual Alex Puente Charity Golf Tournament was underway! Sammi and I got the privilege of being a part of this wonderful organization for the second consecutive year. The previous year, everyone was wonderfully friendly and ready to support a great cause, and this time around was no different!

The Alex Puente Memorial Scholarship Foundation was established by his family in February 2009 in memory of Alex, who lost his battle to Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at the age of 18.  The foundation also provides assistance and support for post-secondary education to members of the community while raising awareness of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) through financial assistance, community events and ALL educational classes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Before the golfers teed-off, Sammi and I greeted and posed for pictures with the guests. We loved interacting with fans at this event and are very grateful to the Puente family for their kindness and hospitality, and for letting us be part of this great charity again!
