Week 17 Game Moved to 3:25 pm Kickoff

Week-17-Game-Moved-To-Sunday-Afternoon-hero

Fans will have to wait just a few more hours than expected for the winner of the NFC East to officially be decided. The Dallas Cowboys will end the regular season on Dec. 29 by hosting the Washington Redskins (3-12). The game was originally scheduled to kick off at noon CT, but the league has moved it to 3:25 p.m. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles will travel to face the New York Giants (4-11) at the same time. Both games will be televised on FOX.

The Cowboys' playoff hopes are not completely in their own hands heading into Week 17, having lost 17-9 to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in what could have been a division-clinching game. In order to reach the postseason, they will need to defeat the Redskins and the Eagles will need to lose to the Giants. In such a scenario, both teams would finish the season 8-8, and the Cowboys would hold the tiebreaker by virtue of their division record.

It is a must-win for Dallas, but with both games scheduled for the Sunday afternoon slot, the Cowboys will kick off in AT&T Stadium knowing that their fate will be simultaneously determined 1,500 miles away.

The Giants defeated the Redskins, 41-35, in overtime on Sunday.
