The first head coach of the Cowboys in the Jerry Jones era (1989-present), Jimmy Johnson guided the club to two Super Bowl championships in five seasons as Dallas' head coach. Johnson, who was college teammates with Jones at Arkansas, arrived in Dallas after a successful coaching career in the college ranks that included a national championship with the University of Miami. Johnson departed the Cowboys with a 51-37 overall record that included a 7-1 mark in the postseason. Johnson was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2020 and was inducted into the Ring of Honor at halftime of the Cowboys vs. Lions game on Dec. 30, 2023.
