Ramon Chinyoung Sr. enters his third season with the Dallas Cowboys and his first as assistant offensive line coach after two seasons as assistant offensive line/quality control.
Chinyoung assisted an offensive line group in 2024 that paved the way for the offense to average 327.5 yards-per-game and 100.3 rush yards-per-game. The unit improved greatly in the second half of the season, blocking for 118.6 rush yards-per-game from Weeks 9-18 and clearing the way for Rico Dowdle to surpass 1,000 rush yards for the first time in his career. After Week 9, Dowdle ranked fifth in rushing yards (833) and 10-plus yard runs (21) and second in yards after contact (628) among all NFL rushers. Dallas has a strong foundation up front for the future after Tyler Smith earned his second Pro Bowl nod and linemen Tyler Guyton and Cooper Beebe combined for 27 starts and 31 games played as rookies in 2024.
In Chinyoung's first season with Dallas, he helped coach an offensive line that anchored the league's top scoring offense (29.9 points-per-game) while protecting the NFL's passing touchdown leader in 2023 - Dak Prescott (36). Chinyoung also helped oversee two Cowboys offensive linemen garner Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors. Zack Martin was named first-team All-Pro, while Tyler Smith was named second-team in just his second NFL season.
Before joining the Cowboys, Chinyoung entered the NFL in 2022 as an offensive quality control coach for the Denver Broncos.
Chinyoung came to the NFL with 10 years of full-time coaching experience, and he previously served as head coach/campus coordinator at Fort Bend Willowridge High School in Houston, Texas from 2020-21. In two seasons at the helm, Chinyoung led the Eagles to an appearance in the 2020 Texas High School Football Playoffs.
Prior to Willowridge, Chinyoung spent eight seasons (2012-19) at Westfield High School, also in Houston. He served as assistant offensive line coach for four seasons (2012-15) before being promoted to assistant head coach while also overseeing the offensive line (2016-19). During his eight seasons at Westfield, the Mustangsrecorded a 96-15 overall record, including a 58-1 mark in district play and registered first-place finishes in the district every year of his tenure. As assistant head coach, Chinyoung helped lead the team to 47 wins and an undefeated record in district play in each of his final four seasons. In that span, Westfield recorded five consecutive playoff appearances, posting a 12-4 record in the postseason.
Chinyoung attended Southern University, where he was a four-year letterwinner from 2007-10. He was named first-team All-SWAC on two occasions while being honored as a first-team All-Louisiana player in 2009.
