Braylon Tatum enters his first season with the Dallas Cowboys as a member of the sport science group. Tatum spent the last two years (2023-24) with the Cowboys as the Markus Paul Strength and Conditioning Intern, where he helped optimize players' physical conditioning to ensure peak performance.
Before joining the Cowboys, Tatum gained valuable experience in collegiate athletics. He joined UTSA in fall 2022 as the assistant sports performance coach. While at UTSA, Tatum assisted with the football team while serving as the primary strength and conditioning coach for the men's basketball and baseball programs. Tatum developed programs to optimize athletic potential and monitored GPS data to inform decision making.
In the spring of 2022, Tatum helped TCU's strength and conditioning staff with the Horned Frogs offseason program.
Prior to the collegiate level, Tatum served as the director of strength and conditioning at Legacy High School and was a sports performance coach at the Michael Johnson Performance Center.
Tatum was a graduate assistant with the strength and conditioning staff at Nicholls State during the 2018 football season while earning his master's degree in higher education. He earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science from the University of North Texas in 2015. Tatum also holds the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Certified Performance and Sport Scientist (CPSS) certifications.
