FRISCO, Texas – With the offseason program in the rear-view mirror, training camp is the last thing standing in front of the Cowboys before the 2025 season begins.
The team will head to Oxnard in mid-July before starting the preseason with three games to ramp up for their NFL opening night matchup against the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
As the Cowboys begin the back half of their 2025 schedule, they get the benefit of having three of their opponents on home turf, including both teams that played in Super Bowl LIX back in February.
Let's examine the rest of the Cowboys' schedule in November as they begin to head down the home stretch of the season:
Nov. 3 – vs. Arizona
Series History: Cowboys lead all-time series 56-35-1
Last Meeting: Sept. 24, 2023 – Cardinals 28, Cowboys 16
Biggest Storyline: The Cowboys face the Cardinals for the first time since their shocking Week 3 loss to Arizona in 2023, where Dallas lost CB Trevon Diggs to a season ending injury earlier in the week and committed 13 penalties in the loss to Arizona. Two years later, they'll face a new-look version of the Cardinals that improved by four games from 2023 to 2024.
Cardinals Offseason Recap: A lot of Arizona's offseason was centered around building depth for their defense, which finished in the bottom half of the league last season. In free agency, their big signings were getting former Eagles DE Josh Sweat inked to a four-year, $76.4 million deal and added former Browns DT Dalvin Tomlinson on a two-year, $29 million deal. In the draft, six of their seven selections were on the defensive side of the ball, headlined by first-round pick and Ole Miss defensive tackle Walter Nolen, and snagging Michigan cornerback Will Johnson in the second round. Offensively, Ariozna will hope that their first-round pick from last year, Marvin Harrison Jr., takes the next step in his progression after a solid rookie season in 2024.
Nov. 17 - @ Las Vegas
Series History: Raiders lead all-time series 7-6
Last Meeting: Nov. 25, 2017 – Raiders 36, Cowboys 33 (OT)
Biggest Storyline: Coming off the bye week, Brian Schottenheimer will face off against Pete Carroll, a coach that he credits for a lot of what he's been able to accomplish in his career up to this point. Schottenheimer was Carroll's offensive coordinator with the Seahawks from 2018-2020, where Seattle had some of their best offensive seasons in franchise history, including a 2020 season where the offense set a franchise record for most points scored (459) and a league-best rushing offense in 2018. The two split ways after what the team said were "philosophical differences" after a disappointing Wild Card round loss to the Rams. Now, Schottenheimer will have a shot to beat his old boss.
Raiders Offseason Recap: After struggling to find consistency at quarterback in 2024, the Raiders traded a third-round pick for former Seahawks QB Geno Smith, who gets to once again play for Pete Carroll. They later signed him to a two-year, $85.5 million extension, and also signed star EDGE Maxx Crosby to a three-year, $106.5 million deal. In the draft, Carroll got his guy in Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty with the sixth overall pick, the clear-cut best running back in the class and one of the best running back prospects in recent history. He'll be paired alongside tight end Brock Bowers in the Raiders offense, who had a historic rookie season in 2024.
Nov. 23 – vs. Philadelphia
Series History: Cowboys lead all-time series 74-58
Last Meeting(s): Nov. 10, 2024 – Eagles 34, Cowboys 6 / Dec. 29, 2024 – Eagles 41, Cowboys 7
Biggest Storyline: If the Cowboys can't win the season opener against the Eagles, can they find a way to split the season series in their matchup at AT&T Stadium? It would certainly help their chances at a potential playoff push or even a push for the division crown. That said, it'll still be a tall task for the Cowboys given how far apart the two teams seemed last year. The good news? If Dak Prescott stays healthy, he's found a lot of success against the Eagles in the past and has a 9-4 record against them in his career. Can that carry on? We'll find out.
Eagles Offseason Recap: The Eagles lost 11 free agents this offseason, and where they'll feel it the most is on their defense after Milton Williams, Josh Sweat, Darius Slay and C.J. Gardner Johnson. They all played integral roles on Philadelphia championship team, but the Eagles still have elite talent on the defensive side of the ball in guys like Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith, plus the additions of Jihaad Campbell and Andrew Mukuba through the draft. Offensively, Saquon Barkley is coming off one of the best season in NFL history at the running back position, but the Cowboys did relatively well slowing him down as much as they could in their two meetings last season.
Nov. 27 – vs. Kansas City
Series History: Cowboys lead all-time series 7-5
Last Meeting: Nov. 21, 2021 – Chiefs 19, Cowboys 9
Biggest Storyline: The Cowboys well welcome the Super Bowl runner-up Chiefs to Arlington on Thanksgiving just four days after playing the Super Bowl champion Eagles in a brutal short week that will tell a lot about what kind of team Dallas is if we haven't found out already. It's a very tall task in year one for Brian Schottenheimer and company, and it's only the beginning of a tough stretch full of playoff teams from a season ago that the Cowboys will face to close the year out.
Chiefs Offseason Recap: From a free agency standpoint, a majority of the Chiefs' work was spent retaining most of their players. Most notably, the Chiefs used the franchise tag on guard Trey Smith and resigned LB Nick Bolton, WR Marquise Brown and EDGE Charles Omenihu. Their biggest free agent add was signing former Chargers safety Kristian Fulton, who is coming off one of the best years of his career. After trading away All-Pro guard Joe Thuney to the Bears, the Chiefs used their first round pick in the NFL Draft on Ohio State OT Josh Simmons, who when healthy may be one of the best tackles out there. Kansas City also got some potential value in the later rounds, with Cal CB Nohl Williams getting picked up in the third round, Utah State WR Jalen Royals in the fourth, Oregon LB Jeffery Bassa in the fifth and SMU RB Brashard Smith in the sixth.
