FRISCO, Texas – In the Cowboys' final training camp practice of the offseason, it turned into a "legendary" night for multiple reasons.

An award that honors one of the most iconic figures in Cowboys history, was given by a Hall of Famer to another that will likely wind up in Canton, Ohio himself.

Darren Woodson was the winner of the 2025 Tom Landry Award, presented by last year's winner, Drew Pearson, during a pre-practice event at The Star in Frisco.

The annual Tom Landry Award, presented by United Heathcare, is given to a former Cowboys great recognized for their efforts on and off the field.

Woodson, the Cowboys' all-time leader in tackles with 1,350, played 12 seasons from 1992-2003. He's a five-time Pro Bowler and helped the Cowboys win three Super Bowls.

Off the field, his legacy continues as Woodson has made significant contributions to his community, both in Dallas and Phoenix, where he grew up and went to high school and college at Arizona State. Currently living in Dallas, Woodson is an active board member at C5 Youth Foundation of Texas, which helps high potential youth with limited resources become successful and responsible leaders in their communities.

Woodson, a Ring of Honor member, has been a three-time finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, was honored in front of nearly 35 former Cowboys legends, including some of his teammates from the 1990s such as Charles Haley, Daryl Johnston, Tony Casillas, Kevin Smith and Kenny "The Shark" Gant.

Other former players in attendance for the event were Everson Walls, Anthony Spencer, Charlie Williams, Randal Williams, Toby Gowin, Bradie James, Danny McCray, Barry Church, John Fitzgerald, Solomon Page, Keith Davis, Timmy Newsome and others.
