Big Facts: No. 1 offense vs. No. 1 pass rush

10_22_ Big Facts

Seven games are now in the books, meaning there are just 10 remaining games on the 2025 schedule. The Dallas Cowboys (3-3-1) currently hold the second-place spot in the NFC East standings and are coming off their best all-around performance of the season. Which is good timing, because they'll face arguably their toughest test of the season as they face the AFC West leading Denver Broncos (5-2) in Week 8.

With all three of Dallas' losses coming on the road, this week provides a chance to make a statement to the rest of the NFL that Dallas is still a contender away from AT&T Stadium. Here are 10 more notable 'big facts' to remember ahead of Sunday's 3:25pm CT kickoff on CBS.

We Have 40 Burgers at Home

The 2025 Dallas Cowboys are just the third team in NFL history to score at least 40 points in each of their first three home games. They join the 1973 Cowboys and the 2000 Rams, who were otherwise known as the "Greatest Show on Turf." Dallas did not have a single 40-point performance during the 2024 season.

Another Franchise Mark for Dak

Dak Prescott finished with three passing touchdowns and no interceptions for the fourth-straight game, the longest streak in franchise history. It's also tied for the second-longest streak since the 1970 NFL merger, with Drew Brees (2019), along with MVP winners Aaron Rodgers (2014) and Tom Brady (2007). Only Russell Wilson had a longer streak, when he rattled off a streak of five games in 2015.

In Command of the Commanders

Prescott has dominated the Commanders franchise throughout his career. He improved to 7-0 all-time against Washington at home, combining for 20 passing touchdowns, no interceptions, and a 126.4 passer rating in those seven starts. He is a combined 5-2 during road games against Washington as well, where they'll travel for a Christmas day matchup.

Not Just Good for a Tight End

Jake Ferguson continues his historic start to the 2025 season with six receiving touchdowns over the last four games. That's the most over a four-game span by a Cowboys player since Dez Bryant scored six touchdowns from Week 14 through 17 of 2024. He is tied for second in the NFL behind only Detroit's Amon-Ra St. Brown with seven.

P.I. Pickens

Entering Week 8, George Pickens ranks second in the NFL with four pass interference penalties drawn and leads the league with 116 yards drawn off those penalties. The next-closest player is Marvin Harrison Jr. with 72 yards drawn over three pass interference calls. Additionally, Dallas has tallied 24 points off drives where Pickens draws an accepted pass interference penalty, trailing only Ja'Marr Chase (29).

Denver vs. Dallas

Dallas will be looking for their first win over the Broncos since 1995 and their first win in Denver since 1992. The Cowboys have lost seven-straight in the matchup, their longest active losing streak against another NFL franchise. The two teams last met on November 11, 2025, a 30-16 win for the Broncos.

Mile High Magic

The Denver Broncos scored 33 points in the fourth quarter to beat the Giants in comeback fashion in Week 8. That's the most points in the fourth quarter in franchise history, and most by a team who was shutout through the first three quarters in NFL history.

Anything is Possible

Entering Week 7, teams were 1-3,677 when trailing by 18 points or more with less than six minutes remaining in the game. The Broncos were the second team to win a game despite the scenario, ending a streak of 1,602 straight wins by teams leading by that margin. The 2003 Indianapolis Colts are the only other team to complete such a comeback.

Bo Knows

Not Bo Jackson, but Bo Nix became the first player in NFL history to record two-or-more passing touchdowns and two-or-more rushing touchdowns in a single quarter. He also holds a streak of 15-straight games with a passing touchdown, the third longest active streak in the NFL behind Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes.

Dak's Dominance vs. Denver's Defense

The Denver defense has showcased the league's best pass rush production over the first seven weeks of the season. They lead the NFL in sacks (34), QB hits (65), QB pressures (125), QB pressure percentage (47.2), and players with at least three sacks (5). Denver's defense and the Cowboys offense both rank inside the top five in points per game, total yards per game, and sacks per game/sacks per game allowed.
