Bye Definition

!The Cowboys used the bye week to get healthy and pull closer in the NFC East.

fired their special teams coach after the Monday Night disaster. The Texans are 3-1 but still can't stop anybody. Green Bay's 3-1, but Packers fans are upset they didn't trade for Marshawn Lynch (Seattle) to aid their 19th-ranked running game without injured Ryan Grant.

In the NFC East, the Eagles must to forge ahead with their original No. 1 quarterback, Kevin Kolb, who looked tentative in relief of injured Mike Vick. The Redskins and Giants have been inconsistent, and that's why they're also 2-2.

Looks like the Kansas City Chiefs (3-0) are closest thing to perfect so far. You read that correctly. Amazing, this league.

What does all this mean? There's parity. Lots of it. The Cowboys have learned their talent won't consistently overcome the mistakes they made in their two losses.

But based on what we've seen through four weeks, their performance against Houston stacks up against any team in the league so far. At that level, they can play with, and beat, the best.

We just haven't found out who's in that group yet. No team is content right now, not even the lone remaining unbeaten.

It took me an idle Sunday to realize it.
