FRISCO, Texas – On Wednesday, the NFL announced 24 training camp joint practices across the league, and the Cowboys will see a familiar team on the opposite side of the field.
For the second straight year, the Los Angeles Rams will make the drive to Oxnard, California and practice against the Cowboys on August 5, four days before the two teams play one another in the preseason opener at Sofi Stadium.
In 2024, the two teams had only three days between their joint practice and the preseason opener, which the Rams won 13-12.
In their preseason opener in 2024, the Cowboys defense picked off Rams QB Stetson Bennett four times but ultimately couldn't pull away with the victory, something they'll look to reverse in 2025.
They'll go into both the joint practice and preseason opener with a new look roster and coaching staff in Brian Schottenheimer's first of each as a head coach in the NFL.
It'll be the only joint practice that the Cowboys hold during training camp, as the team hasn't had more than one since 2022 when Dallas practiced against the Broncos and Chargers on the road before facing them in preseason games shortly afterwards.
In their 29 meetings in preseason games, the Rams have hold the all-time record over the Cowboys with a 17-12 advantage, while Dallas leads the all-time regular and postseason record 20-18 over Los Angeles.
Following the road trip to Inglewood in their first preseason game, the Cowboys will close out the preseason with back to back home games at AT&T Stadium against the Ravens and Falcons.
